Credit Calculator

With Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), you could be given credit for prior formal studies and work experience which will reduce the duration of your degree. The Credit Calculator allows you to determine eligible credits, based on your previous studies from another institution. It is intended as a guide to help you plan your study.

You may still be eligible for credit for RPL, even if your country, institution or program/course is not listed.

  • If you are a prospective student, please contact study@unisq.edu.au for further information.
  • If you are a prospective international student, please contact international@unisq.edu.au for further information.
  • If you are a commencing or continuing UniSQ student, please apply online.

Calculate credit

Please enter the following information:

Select the country where you completed your study.

The Credit Calculator results are a general guide only and will vary as circumstances and regulations require. The University reserves the right to alter, amend or vary the Credit Calculator.

Students should wait for their credit for RPL application outcome prior to making changes to their study plan.

The University will perform individual assessments for each student and provide supporting rationale for the credit for RPL application outcome. This can take up to:

  • 10 University business days for applications based on recognition of prior formal learning, and
  • 20 University business days for applications based on recognition of any combination of prior formal, non-formal or informal learning, for example, work experience.

Where a student is dissatisfied with the outcome of their credit for RPL application, they may request a review of decision in accordance with the Student Grievance Resolution Procedure.

  • Where the Credit Calculator finds that credit for the student’s prior formal studies has already been assessed for the relevant program, students are not required to provide course or subject outlines with their application. However, students must attach evidence of successful completion of these courses/subjects.
  • Credit limits apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate where courses have been completed at another institution.
  • Students should refer to the Credit and Exemption Procedure for other general conditions that apply to the granting of credit, such as how long ago the studies were completed, as well as any restrictions specific to their program.
